WHO WE ARE
Our volunteers are the ones who keep us running. They manage day-to-day activities, ranging from animal care & fostering, social media, event help, and so much more. Because of our volunteers, we are able to maintain a healthy balance for the animals within our care, and interact with our valued supporters in a timely manner.

2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our board of directors & executive officers maintain the inner workings of Archie's Angels. They ensure that paperwork is up-to-date with the state, serve as a resource for volunteers, schedule veterinary appointments for fosters, and operate fundraisers.

RAIJA HANSEN
PRESIDENT & FOUNDER
At a young age, Raija found a fascination with herpetological wildlife, discovering toads & garter snakes in her own backyard. This passion continued as she grew, discovered other reptiles & amphibians, and adopted her first reptile - a leopard gecko named Oz who still resides with her today. Her educational outreach within the herpetological community began in 2014. Since then, Raija has spoken about reptile & amphibian care at hundreds of different venues, including but not limited to schools, colleges, humane societies, veterinary hospitals, expos, assisted living facilities, and so much more. She continues her education journey with Archie's Angels today, having expanded to teaching about anatomy & physiology and looking at herpetology through a veterinary lens with the most up-to-date information available.

She has a passion for monitor lizards and their unique intelligence, but her heart earned a special spot for frilled dragons after taking in Gideon, a special-needs dragon who was in search of a loving home. She manages most specialized foster cases, able to provide around-the-clock care for animals that need direct supervision and medical treatments.

Raija is a Certified Master Herpetologist through The Amphibian Foundation. She works as a Veterinary Assistant, experienced in both general practice & exotic urgent care. She enjoys making larger-than-life costumes for cosplay, writing, Dungeons & Dragons, and playing video games.

As president, Raija serves as the primary speaker for all events, generates content for outreach, maintains the business interface, upkeeps the website, and oversees the board of directors, officers, fosters & volunteers and all activities of the organization.
ROCHELLE SCHUCH
VICE PRESIDENT
Rochelle began her interest in reptiles and amphibians over 20 years ago when she was a young girl, catching frogs with her dad for catch-and-release. In childhood, she developed a strong desire to rescue, rehabilitate, and relocate native and non-native species of reptiles, particularly snakes. She was often called on by neighbors to help relocate species that had worked their way into garages and homes. During her high school and college years, she worked on rehabbing & rehoming captive animals and educating about their proper husbandry.
Today, her primary focus has become helping and educating on all reptiles & amphibians in the pet trade and ensuring their owners are set up for success with the help of Archie’s Angels. Her desire for knowledge has led her not only to pursue the best care possible, but to ensure that each animal's habitat can provide enrichment & the most to keep them happy & healthy. Every year, she studies the newest findings on species to ensure she is providing the best life & guidance on their care. She strives to further advance her skills and knowledge of a variety of species, working with everything from frogs and lizards, to colubrids, pythons, and boas. She is currently working on expanding her knowledge of chelonians & boas alongside their specialized care.
Outside of working with reptiles, amphibians & other animals, she can be found working on cosplay, hiking & exploring the outdoors, and reading anything from science textbooks to fantasy novels and her own writing projects.

Rochelle's duties include advising the board, completing special tasks as requested, assist in data management, and asset management.

Stefani's responsibilities as secretary are to maintain monthly meeting minutes, manage records, communicate important announcements to volunteers, and to serve as a general educational resource.
KATRINA SCHLAFER
TREASURER
Katrina has always had a passion for often “misunderstood” animals. She had a small anole as a child, but what she really wanted was a bigger reptile, like a bearded dragon. Like a lot of kids, Katrina was told to wait until she was adult.

Fast forward 18 years later, and Katrina woke up one day realizing, “I’m 24 and have my own place. I can get any reptile I want to!” This epiphany quickly led her to Archie’s, where she found Hades the Ball Python.

Now, Katrina and Hades visit schools to present about ball pythons in the wild, their natural habitat, and their anatomy. Their main goal is helping children conquer their fear of snakes in an educational way.

Outside of Archie’s, Katrina works as a legal assistant, raises chickens, and enjoys mystery podcasts, snowshoeing, digital art, and losing at Super Smash Bros.

As treasurer, Katrina is the bookkeeper, grant applicant, and fundraiser lead. She manages the organization's financial income & expenses, maintains fiscal records, fulfills online orders, and ensures full transparency to the public for finances & where money is going.

TAMMY REMINGTON
INVENTORY COORDINATOR
Tammy has been happily married for 31 years. She has two boys and seven reptiles. Her husband brought home their first reptile ever, a ball python (which she still has). They welcomed Hermes the red tegu to their family shortly after. When she went to her first reptile expo with her son, they fell in love with Archie’s Angels and what the organization stood for. Tammy is excited to learn more and help with fostering new reptiles, having first joined Archie’s Angels to be volunteers and fosters. She never thought she was a reptile person, but now she would not change her perspective for the world; she wants to share how awesome they can be with the right care!

Tammy oversees the Archie's Angels inventory stock, manages donated items, relays what supplies need to be ordered, and communicates with fosters to reliably transfer supplies.
